Two characters, Ed and Lacy, were in a construction box over the dam when the cable breaks, leaving the men dangling. Ed, who was a good buddy of Rusty's, couldn't hold on and falls to his death. Rusty is able to save Lacy, but afterwards and for the rest of the film no mention whatsoever is made about Ed or his death.
