In the film's motel scene just before the robbery of the Hayes City Bank, an agent yells out "Floyd - FBI!". At that time, the agency was known as the Bureau of Investigation (BOI). Charles Arthur "Pretty Boy" Floyd was brought down on October 22, 1934. It was in July 1935, nine months after Floyd's death, that the BOI was renamed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
