David hits Brian with a hatchet. Later when Kirby is carrying Brian into the house she says, "He was shot." The line is partly blocked by Kate's dialog, but can still be heard. Since Brian was shot in the book, this is probably a problem with shooting order of scenes and changes made part way in.
