Erica's father signs his resignation on August 17th, but the court scene where Robert escapes must have occurred sometime around the end of April or May at the latest because in the case being heard when the scene opens the woman asks her for her husband's sentence to be increased to eight months rather than six "to tide her over Christmas", which would mean that they were still in late April or May.
