There are several points during Axel's rescue of the children on the ride, where it is very obvious that the close ups are all blue screen shots. The best example is where Axel propels down with the children around his shoulder. The shot below, of the crowd moving out of the way, is clearly a blue screen shot to give the appearance of Axel and the children in danger.
