In "The Raft" segment, when Deke gets pulled down by the monster, his body is forced through a sizable break in the raft planks. His hand could not have gone through the narrow gap between intact raft planks, as shown when he is finally pulled under and his class ring slips off. Nor could he have reached up through the gap from underneath since his ring would have blocked him.
