In numerous scenes both pilots handled the aircraft in an outrageously unrealistic manner, both in turbulence and smooth air conditions. Their movements of the control column were severely exaggerated and erratic, creating what is known as over controlling. During all of these scenes neither pilot was looking at their instruments or directly through the front screen, meaning that they had no reference to an artificial or natural horizon. This would have undoubtedly resulted in their total inability to safely control the aircraft. Also, at most times whilst flying the aircraft they both spent most of their time looking at each other and laughing, again totally distracting from what should have been their primary task, controlling the aircraft with reference to the instruments or the outside horizon.
