When killing Krest, Sanchez pressurizes the chamber to many atmospheres, then lets all air out in an instant. While a massive pressure change can indeed kill someone that way (as happened in the horrible Byford Dolphin accident) that would also create a massive pressure and sound spike *outside* the chambers with all that air escaping explosively. Sanchez and the others would be subjected to an explosion of air, rendering them deaf and possibly knocking them off their feet. Yet all we notice is some hissing.
