During the protest/riot, Bourne is spotted with a gun by a group of police officers. Three of the officers break from the line, and pursue him, even though he drops the gun. Two of the officers are then shown pursuing him for some time, through the crowds of protestors. Given that the protest is already turning violent, police are kettling the crowds, fire bombs have been thrown, and at least one gun spotted, there is no way that just two officers would deliberately put themselves in the middle of the crowd, unsupported. In reality, the whole line would move to secure the weapon, or a significantly larger group would have moved to secure Bourne - retreating if they could not get him safely, and identifying him to other officers for later arrest.
