When Torrey arrives at his new command, he deplanes Powell before his aide, Mr. Armstrong. The proper order in boarding a whaleboat would be the most junior person first and the most senior last. It should have been Mr. Armstrong, Powell, and Torrey. This is so the most senior will disembark first, and the most junior last. This means Torrey should have disembarked before his chief of staff, Eddington, instead of the other way around, as shown in the movie.
