When Sid and Bernie pick up Joan and Anthea from Mrs Fussey's house, Sid hands Bernie an umbrella. Bernie then clearly wedges it in the left hand side of the roof rack. As the camera cuts to the left hand side of the car, the umbrella has gone. It is not visible when the luggage comes off the roof either.
