When Hilts is on his motorcycle he is stopped in a town and asked for his pass. The reason he was stopped is because he is out of uniform. German motorcycle riders wore knee high black leather boots. Hilts is wearing brown combat boots.Note: Hilts is not stopped due to uniform issues etc - the German doing it just wants some fun. He merely stops him and says words to the effect of - "How about giving me a ride on the back of that motorcycle around this courtyard area?" However, Hilts does not speak German, so has no idea how to respond, and so simply chooses flight as the best option and thereby arouses suspicion and is pursued (ironically if he'd known German and complied he'd have been allowed to proceed on after).
