When Vincent Piazza takes off his guitar, he doesn't hold it by the neck and lift the strap over his head. Rather, he holds it by the body with his right hand and lifts the strap over his head with his left. When he puts it on, he dangles the guitar by the strap and puts the strap over his head. When putting it on or taking it off, a real guitarist always holds the guitar with his left hand by the neck and handles the strap with his right. Clearly, Vincent Piazza had never held a guitar in his hands before this film.
