The movie tells the viewer that if you die in the matrix, your body dies because it can't live with out the mind. This is proved wrong because their training apparatus downloads training to the mind/brain. That training stays with the brain and does not go to the matrix as shown by the computer screen which shows the brain downloading the data. Thus dying in the matrix shouldn't kill the body outside the matrix.
