As the hearse carrying liquor is chased by police, it passes a Standard station with the Chevron logo. The Chevron name and logo had only recently come into use when the movie was made. In 1929, Standard Oil of California used the name "Calso" and a round red and white logo. Calso did not operate in Chicago, where the scene was set. Standard stations in Chicago used the torch and oval logo of Standard Oil of Indiana (later Amoco).
