The length of Dutch's cigar changes drastically during the Jeep ride from the helicopter. Dutch is seen lighting the new Churchill sized cigar when the chopper lands, but when he walks up to the General, it is several inches shorter. That type of cigar takes a few hours to smoke, so the Jeep ride across the beach would have to be about 45 minutes long. Additionally, his cigar is shown to be even shorter in the next scene inside the General's HQ.
