When Leo time travels from 1876, he feels unsettled as he realizes that he is still in New York City, only more than 100 years into the future. He says that he assumed his feeling of disorientation was merely "agita". The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines agita as feeling anxiety, agitation or heartburn. It goes on to say that agita's first usage in the U.S. in 1982. Therefore, Leopold could not have known the word agita because it didn't exist is his time.
