Kat Prime kills Sator in Vietnam, but regular Kat and Max are still co-existing. This makes it difficult for Kat Prime to pick Max up from school in the end. It is Kat Prime because she calls Protagonist to notify the danger with the mobile phone that he has given her after reversed. It also isn't stated how much time has passed between the climax of the film and the ending scene, so it is possible for Kat Prime to have spent her time living in the present waiting to return to the day of the Tallinn shootout and then pick her life back up after Sator's death.
