When Lucinda dies in 1988, a newspaper reveals her to be 33 years old. This means she would've been only four years old in 1959, but she and all the other children appear to be aged 8-10 years old and aren't in kindergarten, but in grammar school. Occam's Razor dictates that this is a simple goof (and pleads against far fetched explanations of newspapers getting such information wrong, there's no reason for that, and it doesn't fall under poetic license.)
