Det. Spooner free falls for about fifteen seconds down the shaft which is at most 30 stories (about 300 feet) from the VIKI's base, an impossibility. Fifteen seconds of free-fall is about 3,000 feet, not 300. Det. Spooner does not free-fall. He uses his mechanical arm to reduce his speed by scraping VIKI's central core. Not only that, but half that scene was shot in slow motion.
