The newspaper "local" Czechoslovak newspaper they show at the end of the movie is using the Russian alphabet (Cyrillic). The languages of Czech and Slovak that make up the former Czechslovakia use Roman character like all of the rest of western Europe. There are accents on vowels and consonants but the alphabet is Roman.
