During the John Glenn's Friendship 7 flight, several scenes show a view of space, and the stars are twinkling. Stars don't twinkle in space. The "twinkling" only appears to viewers on the ground because as light passes down through a volume of air, turbulence in the Earth's atmosphere refracts light differently from moment to moment, creating the impression they are moving.
