When Marty gets to the parking lot with the camera the back doors of the truck open and a ramp comes down. Then Doc Brown drives the DeLorean out of the back of the truck down the ramp. But he would not have been able to get into the DeLorean while it was in the back of the truck due to the fact it was too narrow for the "gull wing" doors to open.
