Near the conclusion of the movie when Detective Allen arrives in the nick of time to prevent Miss Matson from stabbing Jamie, he should have immediately put the handcuffs on her, and not turned his back to speak to Jamie, at which point Miss Matson took the opportunity to whack the detective on the head with a poker.
