When CPT Artemis, played by Milla Jovovich, is riding along in her HMMWV, she gets into the turret, which a Commander never does. A gunner sits in the turret and a Truck Commander (TC) or an Officer in this instance, would stay in the front passenger seat. The gunner is the most exposed and the loss of a Commander is highly detrimental to the mission. Her taking the turret position pulls her away from her ability to maneuver her forces, use the radio (they were wearing ear pieces not Peltors which connect to an ASIP radio), or look at a BLUFOR tracker. A Commander using the weapon on top in the turret is always a last resort.
