The forest camouflage fatigues worn by the soldiers are of a 1980s design, which had been retired well before 2001.
The uniform the Soldiers are wearing is the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU), also called "Woodland Pattern" not "Forest," which was standard issue until 2006. The ACU pattern was introduced in 2004 but was not standard issue or a required uniform until April 2008 for active duty and even later dates for the Reserve components.
