When Mr. Barton is told to shoot Nikolai Zaleshoff, he uses a Luger P '08, and finds the pistol to have an empty magazine. With the Luger P '08 pistol, if there is a round in the chamber, the extractor on top of the bolt will stick up. The extractor acts as a loaded chamber indicator.
