One of the French terrorists has a rifle to make a very long range shot. However, it is equipped with a silencer, which anyone who is familiar with rifles knows a silencer can, and typically will dramatically alter the accuracy of a long range shot. A real sniper or sharpshooter would never risk this; especially such an important shot.
