Martin Maher Sr. is shown attempting to enlist in the Army upon the United States' entry in World War I in 1917, and is last seen in the film sometime in 1919 when Red and Kitty Sundstrom's son is several months old. Martin Sr. actually died in 1912 at the age of 92 or 93.
