The device used to transfer consciousness from one person to the other is referred to as having very strong magnets. Indeed, at the end, a bullet is stuck to the bore of the device. However, the device resembles two CT scanners with spinning X-ray tubes. A magnetic field is generated without spinning parts. Furthermore, the bullet would have been stuck either really good, or, if made out of non-magnetic metals, wouldn't have posed a problem, and Damian could have removed it easily.
