When working on the truck in the desert, the T-800 can be heard panting. Although Reese explains in the first movie that, among other things, the new infiltration units have 'bad breath', it is highly unlikely that the powerful machine such as the Terminator would show a signs of fatigue while fixing the mere engine, little less express them via heavy breathing.
