In "Shiny", Tamatoa calls himself a "Decapod." He only has nine legs (two pincers at the front, a pair of pleopods under the rear, and five walking legs - three at right, two at left), while decapods have ten.However, Maui earlier said he ripped off one of the legs. The remaining stub of Tamatoa's left forward walking leg is there, visible just behind his left pincer.
