When Brad starts the Indian motorcycle, his left hand is encircling the left grip, and his right hand is pulling back from the instrument cluster near the tank. The start switch is on the right handlebar, above the throttle grip, and would be depressed by the right thumb to start . It is obvious that the sound of the bike starting is just a sound effect.
