In giving his report of the Battle of the Coral Sea, Captain Garth incorrectly claims the 'front-line' Japanese aircraft carrier (Shokaku) as sunk, as well as the smaller one, 'Shoho'. U.S. codebreaking intelligence knew full well that Shokaku hadn't been sunk but that she had been badly damaged (three hits with 1,000-pound bombs) and was on her way back to Japan for repairs. They tried to position submarines to intercept her and finish her off. Joe Rochefort was right there in the back of the Jeep, would have known this, and should have corrected it.
