A doctor performs CPR on a woman in an attempt to resuscitate her. He does so when she lies on the bed. Every CPR training says that a patient must be laid on a rigid surface first - usually, the floor - before CPR is begun. Otherwise, the patient just bounces on the bed, instead of his/her chest being compressed.
