Even if Les had passed his driver's license test, he would not be authorized to drive a motor vehicle for upwards to a week. The reason being is that it takes a few days for an auto insurance policy to be activated on a newly licensed driver. If Les had driven that night to Mercedes Lane's home to pick her up for their date, he would be driving uninsured as his policy would not yet be active.
