Multiple comments question the size of the white dwarf inside the moon as being too small. However, they overlook the entire flashback showing the construction of the moons by an advance race of beings. It would be likely that if a race could build what was shown in the flashback, they could also build artificial white dwarf stars of the size needed to fit inside and power the moon.
