(at around 2h) After Madison Square, characters drive toward the Brooklyn Bridge because it's "the closest suspension bridge" to their location. In fact, they'd have to pass the Williamsburg and Manhattan Bridges - both suspension bridges - to get to the Brooklyn Bridge.
