Wade says of his loan that he wants "...complete bank security...Heck, FDIC." The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, instituted in 1933, covers deposits made by depositors at a bank; at the time the movie was made, the limit for each account was $100,000. The FDIC only covers deposits, and not loans, so Wade is incorrect when it comes the function of the FDIC, and the limit falls short of Wade's $750,000 offer.
