It makes no sense for Alonzo to leave Jake behind alive after the fight on the balcony. Alonzo is a corrupt police officer and cold-blooded murderer. One more murder makes absolutely no difference to him while Jake is a lose end that could get him caught, as well as possibly being out to kill Alonzo.
