The scale of the Death Star wreckage is off compared to Il ritorno dello Jedi. Specifically, Rey uses the ruler from Ochi's blade to point at the location on the Death Star where she needs to search. Given the sheer size of the Death Star, this is akin to an astronaut in orbit around the moon pointing at it and asking someone to find an object hidden "there!".
