The bank teller correctly assumes that Mark is telling the truth when he says he has 800 dollars in his account.But when she sees he actually has 300 dollars she would have told him so and assumed he was simply mistaken or had forgotten he had spent the missing 500 elsewhere.No bank would give a customer more money than they have in their account on the basis of them estimating their balance.
