In the first movie (which was shot at the same time as this one), Superman tells Lois that he never lies. It's the reason that Miss Teschmacher helps him; he promises to save her mother first. But in the second movie, Superman lies to Lex Luthor. He tells Luthor that if they can get the other Kryptonians into the chamber in the Fortress of Solitude, Superman can change them into ordinary humans. He knows that Luthor will "betray" him - but the point is, Superman still lied.
