After unsatisfactory test screenings, re-shoots were order for the final showdown between Picard, Kirk, and Soran. Patrick Stewart had already grown his hair out for another role, and had to wear a "short hair" wig around the back and sides of his head. Shots with the wig are fairly obvious as Picard's head now has a great deal of extra bulk.
