As the aircraft makes its final descent into Gimli, there are several shots of the altimeter unwinding. Descending through 1000 feet, the pressure subscale is set to 1013 millibars (29.92 inches). Inexplicably in the next shot, it shows 997 millibars. Changing the altimeter this much would change the height reading by 480 feet.
