When the Terminator jumps into the canal on his bike to join the chase, a shot just before he jumps, from his point of view, shows the canal passes under another bridge just in front of where John and the T-1000 are, but they never pass under any bridge until they travel much further where the T-1000 crashes and destroys the truck.
