When Memphis and Sway steal the Ford Thunderbird, Memphis uses a screwdriver to cause a short circuit on the front turn signal. This is a common method to defeat older car alarm systems. Alarms will often make the turn signals flash, and shorting this circuit breaks the alarm system and stops it from working. However, the alarm needs to be set off first. Memphis does this before Sway opens the door. There is no power going to the turn signal and so no sparks should be seen.
