After Wikita is hit, Jo and Bill get the idea to change the sensors. It is currently night/dark early morning. They pack up quickly and leave to chase the storm, predicted to be an F5. The next scene shows a bridge with the Sun rising and perfect calm skies. This means that at least three hours have passed (given the height of the Sun in the sky). Then the following scene shows them in the truck with a storm around them and the F5 tornado.
