The day after Felice sees the partially-completed Statue of Liberty in Eiffel's workshop she sees Odette and guesses that Odette used to be a dancer. Odette then sarcastically refers to her as Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock Holmes the fictional detective was unknown until 1887 when A Study in Scarlett was published, The Statue of Liberty had already been shipped to the USA by June of 1885.
