The movie depicts the family arriving at the (then named) Yekaterinburg train station to hostility from protesters who try to mob them. Historically, this never happened; Nicholas, Alexandra, and Maria arrived at a more remote train station to avoid unrest protesting (a decoy train arrived to distract congregating crowds as the main station in town). The rest of the children were driven to their final house a week later. This is where they were separated from their nanny and schoolteacher.
